1. Parts of the Journey
The journey of the Orient Express usually consists of three parts:
Istanbul to Ankara: The first part starts from Istanbul and continues to Ankara. This section takes approximately 7 hours and provides the connection between the two major cities of Turkey.
Ankara to Kars: The second section is a longer stage from Ankara to Kars. This section usually takes around 24 hours and offers the opportunity to explore the diverse landscapes of Anatolia.
From Kars to the next stop: The third and final section continues from Kars to the next stop. This part usually lasts until Erzurum or other Eastern Anatolian cities and requires a total journey of approximately 12 hours.
